As Kilburn Library undergoes exciting refurbishments, we’re saying goodbye to our much-loved Kilburn Library of Things — but the journey doesn’t end here. Discover what’s next as we continue our mission to help Camden residents save money, learn new skills, and live more sustainably.
As part of upcoming refurbishment works at Kilburn Library, we’ll unfortunately no longer be able to host the Library of Things lockers at this location. While we’re sad to say goodbye to Kilburn LoT, we’re excited to announce that we’ve secured a new home just down the road at Swiss Cottage Library.

“We organised our daughter's birthday in the park and we wanted to avoid single use items as much as possible to reduce our waste. So we borrowed the party kit and it was very practical and cute. Easy to transport too with the big bag that is provided. A no-brainer birthday party!”
Camille, party kit user
“I used it [the speaker and PA system] at a community event that I helped to organise. Thanks to the speaker, we had nice music on the cycle ride and used the mic to speak to participants.”
Suami, speaker and PA system user
“One of my New Year's goals was to get back into sewing, something I haven't done for over 15 years. Being able to borrow the sewing machine instead of commit to buying one was a great push to finally start again, and I’m so glad I did! I’m super excited to have some cute new wardrobe items for summer. I loved being able to give it a whirl and I'm really grateful for this initiative. It’s such a wonderful way to access items, and get started on things you may be procrastinating on. Thank you Library of Things.”
Athina, sewing machine user
"I sanded and repainted my front door that I've been meaning to do for ages!" Anita, hand sander user
"I only need to trim my front hedge once a year, so it makes no sense to spend 100s of pounds on a hedge-trimmer. Hiring one from the library of things was PERFECT! Collecting and returning is easy, and the trimmer was fantastic. My front garden now looks very neat - all for £10. Wonderful."
Fiona, hedge trimmer user
